live without roommates

While I am teaching myself to deal with my roommates’ quirks, today after leaving my (temp) job, I looked up at the luxury condo towers, which are multiplying all over Boston like a virus, and wonder to myself what it would be like to live there. 5 years ago

I saw a fair amount of artist’s live-in studios at an open studio show this weekend. That would be PERFECT for me. 5 years ago

In fact, I can’t remember when my last roommate moved out. I’m thinking it was around 2000. Gosh have I had my own space and my own sanity for that long now?

Don’t get me wrong. It’s nice to have people to help share expenses. Unfortunately I was always taking in friends who were down on their luck, so they weren’t helping with the expenses but adding to them.

Now I can leave the dishes in the sink if I want to, or walk to the bathroom naked, or entertain without worrying about getting interrupted in the middle, or any number of things. 5 years ago

I moved into my own place on Saturday. It is perfect for me. I am so excited. The rent is just perfect and the place is so clean and cute. I am so excited. I just want to be home all of the time!! 6 years ago

I went and looked at an apartment today. It was really cute. I am going to apply for it but the guy said that I was the ninth person to look at it today and then there were people right after me!! ughgh. I am faxing the application tomorrow though. He said he would make a decision by Friday so I am going to cross my fingers!! 6 years ago

I cant’t wait to be roommate free but this is just not an easy time to find an apartment. I live in a college town and the new semester just started so everyone is settled into their apartments. ughgghhg. I am frustrated. I have looked at like 15 places but they are so gross!! How can people rent places like this out! I got a storage unit today and have started packing all my stuff. They come to clean the carpets on the 30th so I have a week and a half left. 6 years ago

So, I need to find a place to live by the end of the month. I just want a clean one bedroom apartment that is fairly modern and affordable. I have been looking for like 2 weeks and there is NOTHING!! ughg, it is so depressing. I am going to have to put all of my stuff in storage and stay with my boyfriend. I am not looking forward to it. We hardly get along anymore and doing this just makes me more dependent on him. I just want to live by myself for once. So, my current roommate bailed on our lease so I am currently looking for a new apartment. I have util the end of January. I am super happy because it is so hard to live with another person. We were best friends but are no longer even speaking to eachother, hence the make new friends goal. Anyway, I am looking pretty hard for a cute apartment that I can call my own.
