...on Wednesday night and I’m not really looking forward to it. I work as a nursing assistant and it’s not always that fun. I am hands-on with whatever patient care is required and I’d like to think I’m fairly chirpy with it. However it’s the stocking that gets me down. Lately I’ve been leaving the stock replenishment until 5am and then having to apologise profusely to the day staff for not getting off my backside early enough. It’s really not acceptable anymore. I hate being like it so here’s my chance to change. But how does one improve their attitude to a job they don’t really like? 3 years ago

I think that my attitude at work has improved. Mostly I just needed a vacation! I guess stress was just getting to me. I’ll have to remember that next time I start having a negative attitude. People see me as a positive person, but I know that I sometimes complain about things that cannot be changed and that sort of thing. The last few weeks have been much better though! I plan to keep it up! 6 years ago

Days are much more tolerable when you realize this is just a stepping stone! 6 years ago

The place I work has the very ‘worst’ reputation in our company. No wonder my work attitude sucks. I do try daily though--
I would rather work someplace where people consistantly like you or dislaike you, not they like you one day and talk crap on you the next. 6 years ago

I don’t think de-motivated is a word that appears in the dictionary, but I saw it in yesterday’s Dilbert.
Anyway, I want to have a better attitude at work, but I am seriously demotivated. No one at my company has had a raise in 5 years, and no sign of one coming anytime soon. I’m a good, but imperfect employee, interested in improving my work performance because I will feel better about myself and my job if I do. But the wage situation is so dismal, it’s hard to keep that want going. 6 years ago

I get frustrated with my job because the amount and intensity of my work does not match the wages. So I’m there 40 hrs a week at least, leaving exhausted, and not being paid enough (in my opinion). I hate having to be away from home so much, and putting up with crap, but then I still struggle. I sometimes feel like I’m working to be broke. But all of that aside, my thoughts about my pay are really effecting my attitude at work. I used to care more about it, but I don’t feel that way anymore. But for now, this is the only job I have. My next goal should be to get a better job….. 6 years ago
