I love hitting the snooze button, and since it has kind of gotten the rule rather the exception to hit it a few times, I usually set my alarm accordingly to allow for it. I didn’t really see it as a problem until I started to do some math.
Lets say that I snoozes 3 times on average (10minutes each snooze) every morning, 5 times a week for a year this is what it looks like…
3×10x5×52= 7800 minutes per year => 130 hours
Now that’s a time I would like to spend doing something different!

First, I’ll start by going to bed before two every night. Haha. Second, I’ll set a goal to accomplish every morning that will require me to rise early. Additionally, I will begin taking showers in the morning, so that I am more cramped for time, until I can easily rise in the morning without hitting the snooze button ten or twenty times.

matsherwood looking for the non-linear domain of infinite possibility
the mornings are difficult. If i would get to sleep earlier maybe i wouldn’t have such a tough time. I’m in bed at a reasonable hour, I just end up watching movies until much too late. Then the alarm, snooze, alarm, snooze… then crusty-eyed i attempt coffee and then drag myself into the shower. There has to be a better way.

When I was a child I used to jump out of bed happily! Now I constantly press the snooze button and end up rushing for work, sometimes being late. Horrible.
My bed is just too comfy! How come it never feels as incredible as in the morning when you first go to bed?
I’m gonna look through some of the ideas on here and try them.

I really like hitting the snooze button, and I’m realizing that it really isn’t a problem if I get up after the second snooze. I usually set my clock accordingly to allow for it. I feel more alert when I do get up, I really like that in-between time.
When it becomes a problem, is when I keep snoozing for longer, say an hour or so. That’s when I start sleeping in late, and having less time in the morning than I’d like.
I realize that part of this goal involves willpower in the morning. But another part is foresight in the evening—its much easier to get up in the morning if I don’t stay up too late.
So once I feel like I consistently get out of bed after the second snooze, I will mark this as done.

I realised that I could NOT stop hitting the snooze button.. BUT.. ‘cause there is a but..
In Quebec City.. there is that stupid radio station that I hate so bad because they are very mean and they think they know better than anyone else.. and.. anyway, I just hate them, I could talk about them for hours..
And, when I moved in.. I was young and innoncent.. and I wanted to wake up the day after.. so I tuned in a radio station.. The first one I could get.. anyway..
Every morning, I told myself: Change that stupid radio station!!
I realised.. like a month after.. that it was THE radio station I hated !! SO now.. that’s for sure!.. I turn off the radio.. and get up..
By the way.. sorry for the people who would recognize the radio station I’m talking about.. I respect you anyway.. I just don’t like them..

So, I’ve been making an effort to hit snooze less, but I have to confess I still love the snooze button. I usually hit it twice now, as opposed to the four or five times I would before adding this goal. I think before I will ever accomplish this goal, I have to convince myself that it will actually be beneficial to my well-being. Will it really give me more time, make me feel more awake or rested, or help me get up earlier?
Some internet research is in order.
