molly mcdotMOAR shopping

More shopping.

Yesterday’s. Click through to flickr, then move your mouse over the items to see what they are and what’s my excuse for buying them.

Stuff bought last month. My main excuse is that I was in London. Click through to flickr to see a run down of what’s in the photo. I also bought two punches (since used) that I forgot to put in the photo. 3 years ago

molly mcdotnew plan

New plan – I’m going to find some other site to catalogue my craft supplies, but not until I have added all relevant stuff to ravelry. Currently I have no yarn, needles or hooks added. My priorities there are adding all projects and photos of each. 3 years ago

molly mcdotcataloging site?

I’d love if there was a site like ravelry, but for all crafts. Even somewhere to catalogue my supplies would be good. Any recommendations? 3 years ago

I have no idea any more.

Em… most recent buys…

  • set of butterfly stamps. Don’t think much of them – detail is missed a lot, but I have used one in anger and tried another.
  • butterfly and ladybird background stamp. Used.
  • long strips of spring-themed decorative paper. Used two strips.
  • beads. Two shades of orange (used one, not sure about other), yellow (used), at least one shade of red (at least one used).
  • bead loom. Used.
  • Japanese brush pen. Used.
  • Iris stamps
  • other stamps eg Art Deco rose.
older things recently used:
  • butterfly stamp free with magazine
  • purple beads
  • square metallic beads
  • small coloured wooden beads
  • a few tapestry stamps
  • butterfly punch (I’d probably used this before)
  • glitter
  • pink buttons free with part work
  • purple ink pad
  • various beads, glass and wooden.
  • leaf punches (holly and something else)
  • yarn from a French knitting kit I bought for the tools (yarn was to make the ugliest teddy in the world)
  • yellow flower brads free with part work
  • circle border stamp from set of border stamps
  • some sequins from a kit
  • blue mixed fibres
  • paper flowers free with part work.
  • more sequins. Free with part work.

Lots more bought, but it’s easier to remember what I’ve used.

Is there any point in less-than-semi keeping track of this? 3 years ago

molly mcdotit's beads now...

Beading is my latest passion. I now have a loyalty card for the bead shop (http://www.yellowbrickroad.ie/). At least the last time I went I just bought 5 things. Two packets of beads for a necklace I’d already started and run out of those beads for. Two types of needle because I’m having difficulty threading the standard ones. Black beading thread because I was trying out bead weaving and between the bead colours and thread colours I already had, I was very limited in my choices.

I’m tempted to say I give up on this goal, but I think it’s good to keep track of things even if I know I’ll never use it all. Perhaps I should change this goal to something else. But what?

I’ve been thinking about making cards again, but haven’t yet.

Here’s some photos of things I’ve made with things mentioned in previous entries:

nighttime village scene stamp: purple village card, brown village card
quilling: corset and flower
knitting & crochet: set
ribbon: blue snowflake card
some square cards: Christmas trees
felt: interview meme4 years ago

molly mcdotThis will never happen

And now I’ve taken up knitting & crochet, so I have a new set of stuff coming into the house!
And I seem to have stopped card making. We’ll see whether it’s a temporary hiatus. 4 years ago

I can neither remember what I’ve done or what I’ve bought since the last update, but I’ll put down what I do remember.

I’ve done another spot of quilling. I used the instructions from the kit, though I don’t actually remember which paper strips I used. But the kit has officially been used.

I bought a bunch of stuff from treasure bin. Fantasty film, stamps and punches which I haven’t used; a little knitting kit which I have; er… other stuff.

Also bought stuff from scrap fairies. Some scrapbooking paper, one sheet used; wire ornaments, one used. I got a selection of ribbon in Hickeys and used most of one of them. I should have a picture on flickr at some stage of what I did with those (covered a journal and made a card).

A while back I bought a few squares of felt and used a bit of each except the purple (I’d bought the rest for a specific idea, but the purple because I wanted to). I’ve now used some purple and a bit more grey. Picture also to follow on flickr.

I’ve bought and used square cards. I’ve got aperature cards with a magazine and not used them.

I thought I’d used the orange peelable paints for this card, but it doesn’t look all that orange. So that’s still not used. I think all my other colours have been used though.

I have used the paw stamp.

Ah, I really need the stuff in front of me. 5 years ago

molly mcdotquilling

I’ve tried quilling. I’ll upload a picture at a later date.

I didn’t actually use the kit I bought because I got enough stuf free with a magazine later. But it’s something used and something new tried.

I also did a tiny bit of embossing. I used an embossing tool that I hadn’t listed, plus two stencils that I got free since my last update.

I bought some more stamps too. A spring “See-D”. 5 years ago

Why is it always tempting to buy more stuff when you still have untouched stuff?

Some of the unused things I have
  • A quilling kit
  • Purple feathers
  • A moon punch
  • A petal punch
  • A wobbly line scissors
  • A mosaic coaster kit
  • A paw stamp
  • A nighttime village scene stamp (why did I get this?)
  • Orange peelable glass paint
  • velvet scraps
    plus more.

I’m not as bad as I used to be though. Except for the mosiac kit, the oldest thing listed there was bought in November, and some are as recent as Christmas presents. 6 years ago
