...do I keep putting it off? I find it so tedious and daunting! And yet, I have the technology at my disposal, the external drive, the DVD’s, the CD’s…
But it’s B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!!
OHGOD, I need an external hard drive.
Like yesterday.
Sadly, I’m too broke for one just now. Soon, hopefully.
Il serait trèes important que je me fasse un backup de mes sites importants…
Les orthopédagogues ont des données importantes, les finissants et la famille.
Je veux aussi me faire un horaire pour le faire 4 fois par année: juillet, octobre, janvier et avril…
I set up a nice RAID-0 system on my main PC when I rebuilt it. Only 2×60 Gig drives, but that’s enough for all my work/photos/emails/designs/animation that I can’t possibly think of losing. The other drives are for non-essential stuff like my video editing and games/applications etc…
I only burn my photos to DVD each year (or 6 months depending on whether I’ve got 4-5 Gig already), so just didn’t like the prospect of losing it during a hard drive failure. I’ve had one hard drive fail recently (didn’t lose much as I could recover from backups), but it’s too easy to believe they will never fail.
It’d still pay to have some sort of off-site backup as well, but I’m not that precious about it.
I lost 2500 mp3s. I guess I deserved it, with all the horsing around with my iRiver. I shattered the hard drive. When I get a new setup, I WILL back everything up.
I spent $350 on data recovery last year.
Odd that the advertisement on this page is for data recovery, rather than for backup storage devices. I might actually need to get one of those.
