hhannahDecorating for Christmas in my first home on my own

with the kids. They are super excited as always…however in the past I have not had any enthusiasm towards christmas what so ever. I do not agree with the materialism and commercialism associated with it and how there is little meaning to it on the surface. In my heart and core I know why and I project this to the kids by sending shoeboxes to other countries for people who are less fortunate, assisting with Salvation army and making sure they have thier roots firmly grounded. While they are excited to get gifts and they will, its important to also spend our energy and money doing something which will give our hearts a gift. Anyways back to decorating…Im actually doing it this year…being the first year I do want it to be special for them and not just because they have to be toted back and forth to two homes. I want to make it the most comfortable and happy when they come home at night and turn on the christmas lights, drink cider, listen to christmas music. FOr them I will do this. 5 months ago

hhannahwe have lived here for almost 8 months with no

blinds or curtains on the upstairs windows. Luckily our yard has alot of trees and we have been kind of sheltered or at least I hope so. The windows have been measured and the plantation shutters are being made. Within 6 weeks I wont have to crouch down to get changed. This is another big step for me as I didnt want to just settle and put something i didnt like up…it had to be what I wanted for a very long time. What a nice HOLIDAY present. Not saying christmas….lol 6 months ago

hhannahIt is one year ago today I climbed the Eiffel tower!

and it is kind of weird that as I was waiting for an appointment i walked past this little store where I live and saw this Eiffle tower about 18 inches high and made of metal but brown like the tower itself. I had seen one like this a while ago but it was too expensive to spend on a frivolous item. Today it was on sale at this store so I bought it – seemed like Karma being the exact date which I climbed it. Breathtaking and I just keep on remembering each moment. 11 months ago

hhannahBought a bouganvilla bush-plant. This is extremly rare here in Canada

not sure how long it will live – I also bought one for my mom and my grandma for mothers day. I love the spanning bold magenta flowers and hope it grows all across my back fence and turns it into a tropical paradise. : ) 12 months ago

hhannahtonight is the first night in the new house. Feels kind of normal yet weird

after 14 years of marriage and living with someone im not sure how i feel. A little numb I guess. But not sad, not happy, just an indifference. Is this normal? 13 months ago

hhannahGot posession of the house today!!!! Sun shining in all the windows

hhannahI dont get posession of my house until Friday but my son and I

snuck a peek today – I know that no-one is living there and it was a beautiful day so we just decided to park in the driveway – while we couldnt go in the house of course…we snuck around the back to the yard…he hadnt seen inside yet – so he was excited – there is a koi pond which was kept warm with a heater all winter, we saw 6 small to large koi in the bottom just waking up from thier hibernation or whatever fish do in the winter…I know nothing about how to take care of these little guys and have always hated fish, but Im so excited because they are mine and I want to take care of them and have frogs, turtles, lily pads…and name them. But first to observe thier behavior…I promise not to give them geekly little fishy wishy names…they will be the coolest fish in town!!! pics later! (can you tell Ive been pet depreived?) 14 months ago

hhannahBefore I can start diving into the decorating of my home

I have to get some of the essentials out of the way…costly they are today had to put down $1700.00 for hot water tank and water softener…delivery and then will need money for the installation in 2 weeeks. On top of that there is the legal fees and land transfer…this is going to be a major visa month, and april will be a kraft dinner month! hahah all worth it though to finally be able to do this on my own. 14 months ago

hhannahchanged name again - no clothing design right now - have a home to focus

on. It is very zen and I sence it ffrom the house – it was owned by an asian family – there is koi pond in backyard – thats as far as the zen vibe goes coming from them, the rest is up to me. I feel all warm about the walls, floors it all gives me a very good vibe. Kids are excited too! I be doing some home reno’s will keep posted! 14 months ago
