I want to publish a short story in the horror/sci fi vein, and to do that one thing I need to do is find an outlet to publish it. I’m looking at the following magazines; Heavy Metal, Asimovs, and Fantasy and Science Fiction, which publish new writers in addition to famous ones. I’m going to spend a year buying these and reading the material in them, going over their guidelines, and getting a real feel for them and then submit a story to all three a year from now.
