I’m currently a sophomore in college at UF- I started volunteering for Heifer my junior year of Highschool-It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Heifer makes volunteering easy with the programs like Read to Feed, I’ve worked with local VBS and elementary schools- its so great to see kids excited about helping others! Jump right in contact your regional office and they will get you all set up! Try starting with your church congreation or your children’s schools, you can even support Heifer in the workplace~ feel free to contact me for some Heifer support!

...is the volunteer training / organization day for the Midwest Region of Heifer… and I’ll be going… and I have my sister-in-law coming, too! I’m so excited.
She and I share many, many views and I feel that our “act locally, think globally” philosophy is very much in line.
I’m psyched!
I received a volunteer info packet from the Midwest Regional office yesterday. I am attending a volunteer training and orientation day on April 1st… I am so jazzed!
I submitted my info to the mid-west region offices of Heifer today… They look for volunteers in the region, not necessarily to travel abroad (which I am financially unable to achieve just now… but one day…).
I’m excited to hear back and see what opportunities may exist in my area.
I’m not 100% on when I would ever be able to volunteer for Heifer, but goodness knows I want to! I’m on their “Career Opportunities” mailing list… not because I would leave my current job… but just because… Anyway… I’m saving up to make a donation even now… I wanted to actually donate an animal from our farm in the future, but it is seriously logistically impossible. What a great organization!
