As well as changed my address with my credit card companies. I also put in a change of address with the post office, and paid to have my mail forwarded to my new place for the next six months. 6 months ago

I’ve called my TV/internet provider to cancel my service at the end of December, as well as the phone company to shut down my phone line, and connect my new one.
I’ve changed my email with some of the websites I’m on like 43T; ebay; Amazon; Pinterest and Wattpad, but still need to change some others like my bank and paypal.
I need to contact my car and health insurance companies next week, as well as my bank and credit card companies to give them my new info. Plus, I need to call the hydro company to let them know I will be gone at the end of the month, and to stop charging me.

Oh yeah, I also talked to my super and given my notice so he’s going to talk to the landlord and get a cheque written up for me. 6 months ago

Was able to trace down the president of the company that owns our building, and called him up. Apparently our superintendent has been out of the country (which is why we could never find him), but will be back next week. Big help when he is given as our contact number for more info about what’s going on. Aside from that the only news that interests me is how much the incentive money to leave is. Well, it’s pretty good. They’ll give anyone leaving four months rent. I am so out of here! 9 months ago

On Monday with a big load. I helped them clean out the garage and some more of the basement. I was even able to convince my mom to throw out a stack of papers and magazines from 2004 that she was holding onto for… some reason. Things are going well with the move right now. 9 months ago

Or in this case the landlord, has decided for me. Everyone in the building received notices that they are going to tear down one side of the building to fix it up, along with part of the roof and some other odds and ends. Let me quote part of the notice:

This rejuvenation program will take a number of months to complete and will affect your enjoyment of the property.

Yeah, ‘cause I was enjoying the property up till this point, eh? It goes on to say they will apply to the Landlord/Tenant Board for an increase in rent, something they can’t do till next year, and only at the time they are normally allowed to raise the rent.
It continues with an offer of money to the residents as an incentive to move out. Here is where the plot thickens. I’ve said for years that either the original owner, or whoever buys/inherits the building from him, will make an excuse to kick everyone out so they can tear down the building and replace it with condos. This, I believe is that time.
Now this is no skin off my ass as I’m planning on leaving anyway, and being paid three months rent (the figure one resident was quoted by an employee of the Landlord/Tenant Board) to go early is just bonus. I’m just sad for the folks who have nowhere to go or no money to go somewhere with. : ( 9 months ago

Books and DVD’s from the shelves and packed them into boxes. I’ve even taken a few boxes to my folks’ place. Almost forgot about my storage locker, I’ll have to go through that to see what can go and what can be tossed, or sold. Oy, there are four or five bins of comic books in there as well as my winter tires. 11 months ago

Most of my books. I’ve got ten boxes of books with some more to go. Next I’ll empty out my old dresser and either box the contents or throw them out. After that it’ll be CD’s and DVD’s.
While I think about it I should go through the chest in my living room and toss some of that stuff out. 13 months ago
