nevadagirlamberVIP Hoover Dam tour

And a guided tour of the Reclamation facility here. Such great information, I was so happy I was able to volunteer and join a group of dignitaries as they toured these facilities. 2 weeks ago

nevadagirlamberChocolates, muppets, quilts and more

50. Yummy! Chocolate and Pastry night thing at the Crystals Shoppes.
51. Muppets Most Wanted – fun movie – but even better, my mother and I watched it at a luxury theater where we sat in our own comfy recliners where we could have had beer and wine if we so chose. Super fun!
52. Quilt show – beautiful works of art. I’ve been a bit creatively blocked lately, so this was a good little push
53. Finally paced through the Historic Water District over in Henderson. Super interesting, small town feel to the place. 2 weeks ago

nevadagirlamber48 & 49

48. Went and checked out the Life Cube project over on Fremont Street, very cool energy and lots of fun.
49. The worst place in Vegas – I have been there and it is called – The Container Park. I absolutely hated this place (well, the one singer on stage was very cool, very talented, but besides him..). This place is terrible, vanilla, whitewashed, sanitized, hipster hell. Death to hipsters! Blech. I hated that place. 4 weeks ago

nevadagirlamber47 - Bodies Exhibit

This was at the Luxor and was a lot of fun! 1 month ago

nevadagirlamberA night out with my aunts

I stuffed myself to the brim with sushi with my uncle while my aunts had some Hibachi cooked food.

And then….we went over to a Paint Party business. You get to pick a painting out as an example and paint your own based on what you see. None of us had ever done anything like this before and it was so fun. 4 months ago

nevadagirlamber#45 Ethel M. Chocolate Factory

I loved seeing how the chocolates and delicious desserts are made! They have a really nice cactus garden there as well, but I was more concerned with checking out the chocolate!
(fixed my numbers finally) 4 months ago

nevadagirlamberCaricature

I’ve never had one done before, and finally got to sit with an artist. I don’t think it looks like me at all, but I appreciated her talent! 5 months ago

nevadagirlamberWetlands Park

Brutus and I explored the park with other dog lovers a couple weeks ago. We got to learn a bit about the history there and see the areas where we can walk in the future. Super fun day.

Does anyone else struggle with uploading pics to this site on a consistent basis? 5 months ago

nevadagirlamberWoops - 42

Heart Attack Grille – straight up mediocre food but fun/weird/semi voyeuristic atmosphere. Middle aged men getting spanked, and liking it, in front of a crowd of people. Weird place, fun. A 5 months ago

nevadagirlamber41

Participated in a scavenger hunt on the north part of the strip. I was disappointed because the only way to participate was to have access to a smart phone or to a computer – I wanted it to be about people being clever – figuring out riddles and such.

Had some fun! 5 months ago

nevadagirlamber40.Go Kart Madness!

Rode the go-karts last night! Oh my, it was so fun – I rode so fast and it gave me a wicked work out I wasn’t expecting in addition to some serious motion sickness. I was so sick afterward, worth it though! 5 months ago

nevadagirlamberThe heat is on!

37. Picked my own veggies at Gilcrease Orchard
38. Am a recycling citizen now! Yay!
39. Gorged on foot long hot dogs with my mom at a 51s game. Awesome day. 9 months ago

nevadagirlamberThe Bellagio provided me with some good memories!

33. Went to the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris. Definitely worth the view, which brings me to 34…
34. Watched the Bellagio water show from the top of the Paris
35. Checked out the Butterfly Atrium in the Bellagio. So fantastic!
36. Andy Warhol exhibit – absolutely fantastic – the guy was a weirdo, but he is an interesting person to make you think about art, business and character. 11 months ago

nevadagirlamberUntitled

28. Henderson Birding Preserve is so fantastic, so happy to have found that treasure
29. Defending the Caveman – meh.
30. Gold Coast bowling, possibly the most fun possible!
31. The Springs Preserve really has fantastic events, in addition just walking through the exhibits and walkways on a regular day si great as well.
32. Massive Imax theater at the Palms. Whoop de doo – the movie was terrible (lookin at you Oz) and a $17 cover charge really soured me on ever going there again. 11 months ago

15. Walked through Sunset Dunes (fantastic – go there if you are in town and just want a nice walk.
16. Joined the local library
17. Figured out public transportation, but given how close I live to the school it is actually cheaper for me to drive myself – who knew!
18. Lovely drive through Lake Mead Park
19. The interactive Mob attraction at the Tropicana – this was not for me at all.
20. Received my first massage! With hot rocks nonetheless. Probably won’t be a regular thing.
21. Saw a live recording of the Will James Show
22. Figured out my favorite all time drink is a classic margarita, with ice and lotsa salt on the rim

Much more to do! But at least when I look at this list I realize just how much I have accomplished over the last few months. 14 months ago

nevadagirlamberThanks TG!

I marked a few items off my list while TG was here for a visit. A stop at the Natural History Museum – which was absolutely fantastic and then the Old Mormon State Park.
We also drove the entire length of the Strip, which I have been needing to do since I got here! Then lunch at Harley Davidson with some great barbecue.

Thanks TG! We were both kinda wonky eyed in the pick! 18 months ago

nevadagirlamberI love Las Vegas!

I’ve been through LV at least 20 times, but lately I’ve been wanting more from my visits – hence I’ve found a pretty neat little list of 100 things to do. This list has things on it I wouldn’t typically even think of, but that are in fact quintessentially Vegas and Nevada to-dos. If I move down this will give me a great place to start with activities, and if I don’t at least I’ll get more out of my visits. 2 years ago
