So here we are two days deep into November, and I am looking over my 2012 Resolutions. Because of my deployment and concussions, the following resolutions are now off the table.
1. Run an October 1/2 Marathon
2. Run a November Marathon
3. Run a December Marathon
4. Complete November Writing Month
5. Complete a script for Script Frenzy
6. Complete 2000 points of Blood Angels
7. Complete 2000 points of Grey Knights
Some will be relisted for 2013, depending on what my Army medical care plan looks like. After taking a moment to mourn, I will now focus on my remaining 8 resolutions. 7 months ago
Purchased some beat Imperial Guard models of Ebay, and plan to strip and restore them. These guys will be the cornerstone of my 1000 point goal.
I was doing well with the guardsmen I was working on in Afghanistan, but the container I sent them home in is now in Marina. I won’t be able to get them for a few months, so I have to make do with what I have. 8 months ago
The real focus of my Warhammer 40K army building will be my Imperial Guard Army. I am working some guardsmen here (while recovering from TBI), and will paint my already built tanks when I get home. 10 months ago
This deployment is giving this goal no love at all. I get home in September, and will work on a lot of stuff, but being here gives me no chance to work on my resoulutions.
I’m going to look them over, and devise a plan on how to make them work. I’d like to accomplish something besides military stuff this year.
Hey, there was an explosion while I was writing this entry. I almost feel like a war reporter or something. I guess I should go check it out.

April in Afghanistan was not the place to try and complete this goal. I was involved in 2 Air Assaults, and both times I took a lot of contact. However, I am being put in for a Bronze Star with “V” device for my actions. I’ll try this again next year. 13 months ago
So I have 5 pages completed for my script, which makes me 5% done with the project. I am spending movie watching time getting this goal completed.
The story is science fiction, and I think it is pretty cool. I’m writing it with the idea of actually filming it on a tiny little budget. It helps that I have friends in the industry, so I get some free work.
Still, none of that is possible if the script isn’t finished. 14 months ago
I removed a lot of junk from the attic over my leave. I filled one “black hole” garbage can, and cleared out several piles of old carpets. I also filled four large garbage bags that are still up there. I can’t do anything else with this goal until Fall (when I get home).
However, the wife and I saw a solar fan that would be perfect for the attic. The attic is poorly ventilated, and it gets over 100 degrees up there in the summer. 1 solar fan (for 200 bucks) would drop the heat up there, and cool off the entire second floor.
The wife (who is a rock star at getting things done) will oversee the installation this summer. 14 months ago
Brought a Blood Angels Battlefroce back from the States to work on during my free time. I also brought 5 extra jump troops, and extra tactical squad, a Space Marine Captain, and 2 Baal Predators.
