Sounds just like most jobs out there, really. :P
You really need to have a love of cooking in order to truly become a chef. So many have stars in their eyes, thinking they’ll become an executive chef in no time flat when it takes years and years and tons of criticism. They get fed up and quit.
My fiancé went from a fairly good paying job (for where we are) to being a pizza delivery driver making minimum wage and he’s happier now than before. It’s all about passion. :D
