How I did it: Study and work in the same place and start at the bottom. First get a job (any) in a Hotel to see if you are part of the "Hotel family" people. You will soon know if it is for you and where you fit in before paying any 2 year course fees. This action can start a career rather than waste a lot of money and time , to later bail out because you can't handle it any more or you want a more free life. As my qualified colleagues did. 

Lessons & tips: If this is not your life , don't do it.

    Sounds just like most jobs out there, really. :P

    You really need to have a love of cooking in order to truly become a chef. So many have stars in their eyes, thinking they’ll become an executive chef in no time flat when it takes years and years and tons of criticism. They get fed up and quit.

    My fiancé went from a fairly good paying job (for where we are) to being a pizza delivery driver making minimum wage and he’s happier now than before. It’s all about passion. :D
