honest this is a really rubbish book. its jsut about people with “new money” and it annoys me. they get all this money and in the end they go become expats living in spain. how orriginal. get faked tanned to an inch of their lives, hair dyed platinum yellow…, drink champagne everyday and spend exhorbitat amounts of money and go live in marbella and own super expensive clothing shops and beauty parlours. typical materialism. i havent finished it. but i feel i should, but im sooo sick of it already. so pathetic. and tacky.

i actually stopped reading this 2 months ago or so, and am reading something else at the mo. think i might jsut say ive read enough of it and im done. 10 months ago

there in bits and peices. read sometimes to and from college, and occasionally at home before sleeping… but can do better. sometimes read in my hour breaks at work, if not chatting with anyone.

can do better. is a easy enjoyable read… will finish it quickly if i read it more.

its basically a true story based on a englishman in his 50s, who played the lotto for years and one day actually won it and found himself with £10 million pounds… in the beginning he spends some on his family and friends, and he finds himself dating women more, who are interested in his bank balance and he blows a bit of the m oney frivolously. then he decided ok, lets settle a bit and be smart, once all the excitement of the new found wealth has died down. basically he would like to find a gf maybe a potential wife someday… but he doesnt want them to want to be with him because he has all this money. and he does meet a woman he likes and falls in love with her and wants to date her but this time he hatches a plan with his family and friends, to keep the fact that he is actually a millionaire secret, and pretends to be broke. he wants to make sure that she loves and wants to be with him for who he is and not his money. so he has the expensive cars hidden away and moves out of the fancy house and fires all the staff in a bid to appear normal and not wealthy. the lengths he goes is unreal, cos he gets her to pay all the bills and takes her on a holiday from hell to a cockroach infested apartment etc …

i havent gotten to the bit where he tells her the truth yet… so will be interesting and funny. love that its a true story and there are lots of pics in the book of him, his family, life and the couple etc. 13 months ago
