hike the Chilkoot trail

I may actually have the chance to do this… for work! I work with National Parks, and my supervisor is heading to hike the Chilkoot later this summer. If his wife decides she really can’t make it then I’m in!
If so, I really need to improve my physical health though, I should be in much better shape to do this kind of a hard climb.

I would like to do this in the summer of 2008.

Permits purchased, train booked. were going! Aug 25. (booked for an extra permit to)

Great hike! Met some really cool people.

First attempt to hike the trail resulted in failure as Sherpa (the excitable and untrained dog we invited along) couldn’t make it past Canyon City. Fortunately I’m tenacious and will build a new team to make our approach. I would prefer to replace Sherpa with a St.Bernard named Steve who will carry a little flask of rum to the summit in his collar barrel.
