The New England Conservatory of Music offers private lessons (from teachers and students) as well as a continuing education program…this is where I want to take my singing lessons.
I love music and I believe in the saying that “singing is praying twice” I always feel like and open and expressive person when I can get out my feelings in song.
Of course, I don’t have any training and I want to learn to use my voice properly, preserve it, express myself and learn about music in the process.

angborchers difficult I can do right away, impossible will take some time
I can sing like an ordinary person. I was to sing like a singer. I want to hit high notes and low notes perfectly. I love to sing along with the radio and pretend I’m as good as my favorite artists, but if I really could sing like them someday? I have been thinking about taking lessons for years now. When I sing with people – usually at church I get compliments sometimes, but thinking bugs in my brain wonder if I’m really good or if I’m just loud and noticable – like a bad focal point. I usually accept the compliment and sing louder.
The first thing I did to kick this goal off was Google singing lessons. There is a teacher in my area and I really do want to take personal lessons. I will wait and weigh the cost of the lessons and see my availability to commit to this endevor. I have a few irons in the fire, and I don’t want to take on too much.
The next web site I found was on YouTube, and there are many “singing lessons” on there as well as tips on breathing techniques.
For now I’m going to practice, practice, practice with the radio as my guide. I’m excited to develop this talent for real in my life!

the fourth lesson. Making progress with higher notes already and with keeping my face relaxed. We’ve been working on Stevie Wonders Love’s in need of love today since lesson two and next week I’ll be Elvis Costello as well:)

Voice is currently not too shabby, can hold a note-ish. However, would very much like to sing better.

first lesson yesterday – special, somewhat weird for me, but I just did it (without too many what the smurph am I doing here thoughts:) Voice warmup was totally new to me, after that we moved on to various exercises. It was strange to note that my face and throat muscles became tense when trying the higher notes, it was hard to stop myself doing that! I was happy afterwards so I’m planning to go on for a while. In the next lesson I’ll get to sing a real song…

for tomorrow night! Expecting a final confirmation email from the teacher. I’ve even suggested the possibility of a 2nd lesson on Sat.pm.
And meanwhile I’m still completely confused and unsure about what I’m going to do… :-)

a strong urge to do something out of my comfort zone again. For me it’s totally uncomfortable already to express myself, let alone to sing, and that in front of a professional…
Have sent an email already to a private teacher in town to check for tuition fees!
