Had a little plateau when I went hogwild on Washington cherries (OMG so good!) but slow and steady, the weight comes off.
And I’ve been cooking like a maniac – garlic beef stew, homemade chicken stock, various pot roasts, chicken curries, baked acorn squash, and I hope to try a butternut squash soup this week.
I eat well, folks. No “diet” food here – and I’m never hungry. I just keep losing about a lb a week. Pretty exciting! :) 20 months ago

Still slow, still steady. I had a lot of cheese a couple weeks ago (bought a big block of fantastic cheddar and nommed it ALL), and that held me up a bit, but really without effort the weight continues to drop off. Down another jeans size as of today! :) 22 months ago

So the weight loss is slowing a bit, but still steady. Also, I’ve been eating a lot this week because I made this amazing double batch of red curry chicken and veg, and I can’t keep away from it. :)
But I am getting to the weird clothing stage where I’m at the bottom of the fat chick sizes but still a bit too big for the top of the regular chick sizes… not that I’m complaining. 23 months ago

but maybe I will this weekend, just to see if I hit 50 yet. Bought another pair of jeans, in a lovely moss sueded denim, in a size I haven’t seen in a long time.
I’ve been eating a bit more lately simply because I’ve been cooking more. The farmer’s markets are full of wonderful goodies, and I feel like eating tons of greens, so I do. :) I feel like I could stuff myself on chard every day.
I also discontinued a medication I was trying, the side-effects of which unfortunately caused me to feel quite ill – I had hoped they would eventually fade, but they didn’t. So I feel much healthier than I have in about 6 weeks, and I wonder if the craving for veggies is part of that, rebalancing my system. 23 months ago

I didn’t realize until I went to try on clothes for the job fair thing – I thought I was one size, but all those clothes were too big. Back to storage to pull out slightly-less-fat clothes… :) One thing about yo-yo dieting is that you end up with clothes in a wide range of sizes.
Let’s hope this new way of eating is a permanent one. It feels different, that’s for sure. 2 years ago

This is good, I guess – the old ones were literally falling down, even after I tried to shrink the crap out of them in hot water/hot dryer. But it also meant I had to go to a department store and try on clothes, which is always depressing.
Fortunately, I found a pair I liked at Macys, and they were on sale to boot.
But… they have this warning on them that the dye may transfer to light objects… WTF? Are these jeans meant only for standing in the middle of an empty room? I did some research, and many people recommend soaking them in vinegar and/or salt to “set” the dye better. Martha Stewart says that doesn’t work, though, so I don’t know if I should try it, or just return them and look for a different pair.
The thing is, I do want dark jeans, since I only wear one pair all the time and I prefer a more “formal” look, so won’t every brand have this problem? (These are Tommy Hilfiger.) And I still have to shop in the fat chick section, so it’s not like I have tons of options.
Ugh. Why does this have to be so complicated? 2 years ago
