change someone's life for the better

Still waiting to hear about that job with Boys Hope Girls Hope. In the meantime, I’ve started training to be a volunteer counselor at The Crisis Center Kids Help Line. Once my training is complete, I’ll be answering phone calls from kids (up to age 12) that may have some crisis going on in their lives; or maybe they just want to talk.

I want to help someone in a way that will change their life forever, for the better.

Today I applied for a position with Boys Hope Girls Hope, a privately funded, non-profit, multi-denominational organization that provides at-risk children with a stable home, positive parenting, high quality education, and the support needed to reach their full potential. Many of the children they serve come from home environments marked by drug abuse, poverty or neglect. Others come from caring families unable to meet the child’s needs.

One of my patients died yesterday. His wife called me and told me how much he loved me and wanted to make sure that I could be at the funeral so she asked for my schedule. She is a mess and not all that together right now her son is not here and I told her I would help her wiht the funera arrangement. So I will help. Best to help others. In her pain she asked how my broken heart was. I had been to see him at the hospital a couple of weeks ago adn he assured me I would be fine and that I was the best and deserved a wonderful man and he woudl show up in my life. Just not be the one that I thought it was..

I am glad I knew him. He reminds me of my dad, and they are now both up there together.

Today I am changing my life for the better.

Its not only how you change a persons life for the better. There’s many factors that go into it, I believe that even if you do change a persons life how does it make them feel for better or for worse. Changing someone’s life doesn’t take much effort. Just a couple of words as “hello sweetheart” can make someone feel good about themselves.

to know that I have had a postive influence on someone’s life. :)

Sometimes when you are so sad you forget you are not the only one that is sad…

I have helped another person feel better today… It felt good.

I think just not talking about people or being rude can change someones day for the better. Just think about how people can be mean and it makes there whole day mad. So i think just by not talking about people will make a difference, i don’t even have to go out of my way to do it either!

Hahah, and smiling at people often really helps and they usually smile back—good habit :)
