change someone's life for the better

I used to try very hard to be pleasant and kind to everyone I met. But after taking a critical mass of other people’s crap and nastiness, I no longer have the energy to give like that anymore. Unfortunately, kindness make people think you are weak, which leads them to try and take advantage of you. I hate to be so pessimistic, but it seems best to think of most people as being self-serving turds, and when you find the ones you truly like, then that is the time to be giving.

I’m going to check this off my list after I’ve donated blood and bone marrow.

I want to know I made a positive difference in someone’s life.

througout my life i have always kIND OF GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF LIFE, BUT NOT REALLY FEALLYING OR LIVING, JUST TRRYNG TO CONFORM. I WANT TO CHAGE IT

....I’ve already done this goal. For the past two years I have been sponsoring a kid in Mozambique through Save the Children. I think that counts towards changing someone’s life, right?

I am going to spend the afternoon with Michele tomorrow. I will see how it goes. If I can not think or talk about Mike….

It is her birthday soon and I want to be good to her and make it special.

Still waiting to hear about that job with Boys Hope Girls Hope. In the meantime, I’ve started training to be a volunteer counselor at The Crisis Center Kids Help Line. Once my training is complete, I’ll be answering phone calls from kids (up to age 12) that may have some crisis going on in their lives; or maybe they just want to talk.

Today I applied for a position with Boys Hope Girls Hope, a privately funded, non-profit, multi-denominational organization that provides at-risk children with a stable home, positive parenting, high quality education, and the support needed to reach their full potential. Many of the children they serve come from home environments marked by drug abuse, poverty or neglect. Others come from caring families unable to meet the child’s needs.
