As part of their Making of America series, I wrote and published LAS VEGAS—The Fabulous First Century. It was a textbook case. I submitted a proposal. They accepted it. They provided me with an advance. I did the research. I wrote the text and gathered the photos. They edited what I wrote and designed the cover. I checked the proofs. They published and distributed it. Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com carried it. I went to book signings and appeared on panels. My publisher paid royalties every six months. It went just like it was supposed to. I’d happily do it again if I had another two years of my life to devote almost entirely to the process.

While I’ve already published a book or two, I’ve never done one with a major publisher. So, this is my goal now.
I’m already working on a couple of projects, with the help of my agent. But, I’m still waiting.
