Lost WayfarerI dropped them off!

Sigh, I hated to see them go, as well as see all those lovely books just awaiting to be read! Can you tell that I LOVE to read? LOL

I just hope some lucky kids gets my little happy bundle of books!

Lost WayfarerI collected some books!

These are the books that I am going to donate:

1. Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher by Bruce Coville

2. Mr. Popppers Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater

3. Holes by Louis Sachar

4. The Secret of Nimh by Robert C. O’Brien

5. The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander

6. Engcyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Mysterious Handprints by Donald Sobol

I loved all of these books that I read at one time or another (especially The Secret of Nimh, The book of Three and Encyclopdeia Brown, as they books of my childhood)

I wanted to make this donation special in some way, so I crocheted a little ribbon of kiwi green yarn, and wrapped them up. It wasn’t enough. So I took an index card, and make a small collage (it seems that I am doing that alot lately) with a flower and some books. I wrote on the index card: “ENJOY the books. Books are an adventure within” I slipped that in between the homemade ribbon, but I still felt something else was still missing. Then I saw it sitting on my dresser. A POSTCARD! An Adventure should never be without a postcard. So I slipped the new postcard I had of all the 8 presidents of Ohio, along with a half of sheet of Care Bear stickers that I had.

Now, I hope they don’t separate the little bundle that I made, and are able to give those books to some age appropriate child.

It was an adventure for me. Now I just have to drop them off! I am so excited!

Lost WayfarerThere is this little school bus. . .

April 27, 2012

There is this little school bus like tent in front of the entrance way to the Family Court. I have seen it for months, but it didn’t dawn on me, on what I could do until I finished reading one of my books last night. It was a funny kids book (probably about a 6 grade reader) that I thought I might enjoy to lighten up the mood of reading “The Cage” which has really been playing with my thoughts and heart, as it is so heart rendering.

This weekend, I will go through all my books and find some kids books (Yes, I have kids books) that I am willing to part with (just not my Charlotte’s Web, My Stewart Little and the Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White, as I love reading those three) and donate them either on Monday, April 30th or May 1st.

If I would have known, I wouldn’t have given away a good amount of children’s books to the Cowboy for his girls back in October.

I think every child should have books to read and should be read to regularly. LOL, I read to my cats once in a while, just to make reading more fun. 12 months ago
