I really enjoy the details of food and even if I never have a career in the food industry, I enjoy it as a hobby. You eat three times a day so a lot of your quality of life is dictated by the quality of your food. But I don’t ever want to be elitist about it, and I refuse to pretend fois grois tastes like something a person should eat.
Mainly I just want to taste everything that isn’t poison and improve my food vocabulary so I can convince other people to try things. And what better way to improve your vocab than with more books?
