RUBBER STAMPS and How to Make Them Book by Thompson

The steps to create a stamp aren’t hard to follow. However, it takes more time and patience than I thought it would. I first attempted to make a Nirvana smiley, but I rushed through it and I almost sliced my fingers with the knife when I started carving. It took a couple of scares to get me to slow down and I sort of got used to the carving later on. The stamp ended up as a regular smiley with dots for eyes instead of Xs and a non-squiggly mouth with no tongue. I tried it out as a stamp and it looks like a preschool drawing. I still need to work on skill…my next stamp design that I want to make is a heart and I think I’ll practice making letters and other shapes too. Once I get better at carving, I’ll make the designs that I want to use for letterboxing…
I want to learn how to make rubber stamps, so I could start letterboxing. I already have the materials (X-acto knife, rubber erasers, ink pad) and I looked through some websites that gave information on how to carve designs onto erasers. Now I just have to think of a design that I want to carve and hopefully my artistic abilities will make the stamp look decent…
well, I got all the materials I needed. And it’s so easy that I can’t believe I titled this “learn how to make rubber stamps”.
