I checked out tons of books from the library and bought a few too. After pouring over all the books, I decided it didn’t look too tough so I got started. I’ve pieced a large block, pin-basted it, and am working on the quilting now. It will take me a while to finish because I’ve got so many goals and projects and chores in the evenings. So far I’m enjoying it. After I bind this one, I’m going to count this goal as completed. In truth, I’ll probably be learning about quilting for years to come. I love playing with colors and designs as well as analyzing how-to processes, so this is right up my alley.

It wasn’t a how-to movie. It showed significant quilts that had been part of a special display along with interview comments from their creators. It was moving, listening to people talk not just about their quilts but about their lives. Highly recommended!
After I learn to sew, I’d also like to learn about quilting. It’s not really important to me to make a quilt; that’s a big project and I’ve got so many. But I am interested in the process. There are a lot of different ways that people design them and put them together; I’d like to know more.
