take a ballroom dance class

my cousin has agreed to go with me. sure, she’s a girl and we might get some weird looks, but a goal is a goal, right? i didn’t say “take a ballroom dance class with a guy.” besides, my cousin is a whole mess of fun, anyway.

i can’t find anyone that wants / can afford to take a ballroom dance class with me. well, i guess i found ONE person, but he lives 958.18 miles away.

I know I haven’t been on in a while, but I’ve decided that I want to keep updating my 43 things. Its really useful, and one of the more positive online community things.

So, to get to the point, I took a teen/adult flamenco class this summer. But I’m not counting it as ballroom. Because, when I’m honest with myself, it’s pretty far from it. It was really hard. By the end of the 4 week session, I was the only beginner left in a class of 3 different levels combined. The teacher began tailoring the class to the advanced students, and I was left kind of confused and feeling very silly. I did have fun, but I’m afraid that I slowed the class down and that the teacher doesn’t want to teach me again. So I didn’t take the session after it. I could go back in the fall, but I’ll probably just stick with ballet. I might try ballroom, or some other type of dance, though, to broaden my horizons.

I’m glad to have a cursory knowledge of the subject—but I don’t go out dancing. Ever. And that’s ok with me.
