I recently went to Burning Man (and if you haven’t gone/don’t know about it…I highly recommend to the artistic/spiritual/raver souls out there), and one of my nightly excursions found myself and my travel companion in an art bus…and art MUNI bus to be exact (yes, someone brought a MUNI bus…to the middle of nowhere in the desert…he got it on eBay…go figure!). We were waiting out a duststorm traveling around the playa visiting all the artburns.
I was wearing my silver mask and black corset and feeling pretty foxy. A gentlemen on the bus asked if he could take my picture. I happily obliged. He introduced himself as Chris and we snapped a few impromptu shots.
Fast forward to after the trip. I perused Flickr and FOUND the photos of me tagged in a Burning Man photoset (talk about serendipity!) Chris, as it turns out, is on top of being an entrepreneur who has sold two of his companies to Monster.com, an ex-military pilot, and a Harvard MBA…is also a passionate photographer in his “spare” time.
We found each other on facebook and may just set up a photoshoot for another day I’m in the city!
Also, I was contacted by one of my photographers on my modeling site to set up a shoot this month. I’m little nervous, but getting pumped up. This guy is pretty wild in his exposition, but I think the experience will be really fun.
AND my boyfriend and I have continued to play around with shooting me using my new DSLR. We’re mainly using the shots as photo references for his paintings, but a few of them may become a part of my port.
Finally, I am STILL trying to track down those photos from the film project I worked on last February. My friend may have sadly lost the CD but is getting in touch with the photographer for a new copy fingers crossed.
So:
1. Mini Shoot
2. Photo Reference Shoot
3. Modeling Site Shoot
4. Old stills from film project
That makes FOUR shoots (maybe five if I work with Chris again). I am well on my way to achieving this goal. Hooray! 2 years ago
