stairs are definitely a problem, even a couple of them. I’m still down with the sciatica, will go see the chiro on Monday, I guess.
This is definitely depressing. 10 months ago

Very frustrated with this right now. We gave a July 4 BBQ and by the time guests arrived I was gimpy, and by sundown I was a complete mess. Couldn’t sleep from the pain. Today I did all the right stuff and feel better but DARNIT this is annoying.
I will keep on doing what works, and may have learned a few bits about what doesn’t from details of party prep. Stairs really do appear to aggravate the heck out of it, even just a couple of them. Sigh. 10 months ago
too much time lately in chairs. Tomorrow I’m going to drive for a while, but I commit here and now to hourly (hourly!) stretch breaks.
Movement is the answer. 11 months ago
I will keep sciatica away by getting off the computer, doing my stretches, and getting some REST! 12 months ago
and I learned some things from it, but not well enough.
—I learned that I should not sit for hours at the computer.
—I learned that I needed to stretch those funny little muscles inside my hip.
—I learned that the seat in my car was bad for my back.
Then, when my left leg was happier, I promptly forgot all those things. Guess what happened.
Now I am on a quest for new, good habits to keep those little muscles happy. The good news is that this time, I have already learned that much of what I thought was “knee trouble” was actually “butt trouble.” A knee replacement wouldn’t have done it any good. This is really good news, provided I learn some new habits.
SO: my desk chair is now an exercise ball. I’m going to get one exercise ball for every room in the house, and that’s what I shall sit on unless there is some very good reason not to (a skirt comes to mind.)
Stretching is for every morning, every night, and every round of exercise. Always.
And for now, I’m just going to monitor things. This current flare up is much better but not healed yet.
