...and I’m looking at one right now. At least, I was ten minutes ago. Finally, I’ve seen it. Fortunately it was on vol 1 of the DVD set so I don’t have to rent all the others – but it was right at the end, after the titles, so I was beginning to think it wasn’t going to happen. And yes, I did laugh.
Did you know that Notlob is the palindrome for Bolton?

This has just got a step nearer. We signed up for a rental DVD service, and lo and behold, the Monty Python box set is available to rent. Bearing in mind that it’s 4 DVDs, which I can only rent one at a time, and I only really want to see the Dead Parrot sketch – well, let’s just say that I’m not in a hurry. And I’d like to see some ‘real’ films over the next few weeks, rather than one long Python-arathon. Still, the first disc has arrived, so we’ll see what’s on it. The Lumberjack song, apparently. No mention of Dead Parrots so far.
Yes, I can quote it at length. Yes, I’ve seen clips of it shown on TV. But I’ve never actually seen the dead parrot sketch and I would like the satisfaction of ticking it off my list of things to do before I die. It’s also a relatively easy, painless thing to do, if only I could track it down. I don’t particularly want to buy a full-on complete Monty Python DVD box set, I just want to see the dead parrot sketch. Ex-parrot. Late parrot. Etc.
