Just finished a bear for my nephew this weekend. He’s only a little wonky (it kind-of looks like he is tilting his head to listen all the time, and his ears are just a tad on the large size) but I think it just gives him character. I hand sewed him from a pattern I found online with a few modifications. I didn’t use joints and I enlarged the pattern a bit so he stands about 12” tall.

I made a miniature bear from a kit and gave it to my husband. He named it Phil.
I made them for my nieces and nephews’ Christmas presents one year. I was going to make their clothes, but time caught up with me, so I went to Build-a-bear instead – but just for the clothes.
If you can sew, you can make a teddy bear.
I made this little needle-felted guy. He’s cute, but he’s not a proper teddy bear. I just wanted to give him a showing. It’s not his fault he doesn’t fit the criteria.

There are a lot of great fur fabrics out there. This is a really fun, easy project. When my daughter had a sleepover slumber party, I made bears for all the girls and they stuffed them themselves.
