My daily exercise regimen was generally a success. I managed to do at least 4 weeks in a row, twice, and that’s decent enough dedication. I normally set myself 8 weeks straight for these exercise goals, but I’m thinking that might be a little long commitment before I move up. So next goal I’m just going to keep for five weeks, one week longer than I generally do. If I get sick, I won’t be so dogmatic, but otherwise: four days a week for five weeks means twenty sessions in thirty-five days. That’s doable, right? 2 months ago

Today marks two days in a row that I have done at least thirty minutes of exercise times four days. I generally like to keep my exercise-related goals for eight weeks but I feel that considering I’ve been doing fairly badly on this goal I’m keeping it for another two weeks and then, well, it’ll be time for an upgrade. Two more weeks! 3 months ago

Was going to exercise today, but I can’t get a work problem out of my mind and it’s making me not want to do anything. I did my mindfulness yoga but that hardly counts. Frustrating. And now for dinner. 6 months ago

I did plenty of C25K and exercise biking last week so I’m definitely three weeks in. This week, though, will be tricky. I’m in New York City so basically any exercise I get will be walking at best. I guess if I make the effort to do it, though, it’ll count. So bear with me: this week’s gonna e a weird one. 7 months ago

Another week, another 120 minutes. Man. I don’t know what’s come over me.
Wednesday: 34 minutes of C25K.
Friday: 35 minutes of exercise bike.
Saturday: 36 minutes of C25K.
Sunday: 35 minutes of exercise bike.
Plus some stretching and some mindfulness yoga meditation but I don’t count that. Two weeks in. The third week should be easy, too: it’s Weeks 4 and 5 that I’m concerned about. Hard to exercise when you’re in New York City… 7 months ago

(Not plus much, but still.)
Basically, here’s how my exercise broke down last week:
Monday: 34 minutes of C25K.
Thursday: 35 minutes of C25K.
Saturday: 35 minutes of C25K.
Sunday: 35 minutes of exercise bike.
Finally, one week down. Only eight weeks until it becomes a habit! 7 months ago

With the back pain and the wisdom tooth, both my motivation and ability to exercise were severely curtailed. But this week my tooth is fine and I’m not on painkillers, and my stretching will hopefully help out my back and leg pain, so I’ll try this again. Hooray. 10 months ago

I had so much going for me this week. By Thursday I had already done three of my four exercise sessions. I was planning on exercising Saturday morning and be done a week early. And then, on Saturday morning…I woke up and my lower back really hurt. A lot. And then on Sunday, it hurt even more.
Full disclosure: on Wednesday I had said to myself “Hey, remember last time you started really exercising and didn’t stretch beforehand? You should probably start stretching or else you’re going to have a sore back like last time.” And then three days later…
I’ve been taking muscle relaxants and lying on my exercise ball and sleeping with my knees curled up, and I even have a physio appointment tomorrow. With all that, surely I’ll be mobile by Wednesday and can go back to work. So Week Five might be tough, we’ll just have to take it easy and see. 11 months ago

Well it wasn’t pretty, but I did it. I did my 30 minutes on the exercise bike four days last week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
I really, REALLY didn’t feel like doing it yesterday, but I told myself, “Look, you have to do it. Just get on the bike: you don’t have to go as hard as you usually do, but you have to do something.” So I did, and even though I didn’t go as hard, and I didn’t track my heart rate, I still did my 30 minutes (plus 5 minute warmup), and I wasn’t terribly lame (still put over 10k on). So there you go. Can I do it for two weeks in a row? Prossibly! 11 months ago

I was really sick yesterday so I only got in 3 exercise sessions last week. But that’s okay; it just means that I tried and failed, which is what I’m supposed to do. And I learned something, which is don’t wait until the last minute. Which is something I know, to be fair, but it bit me in the ass this past week so I will try harder to not do all four days in the last 4 days of the week. Because that is DUMB. 11 months ago

I did it! Four days on the exercise bike, 30 minutes each session. No more, no less. It seems like a really minor achievement, but considering how crappy I’ve been doing lately it’s a freaking miracle. I need to keep my momentum up for this week, though; I didn’t have time to exercise today and I found myself beating myself up for it before I even got home. I turned off the music, told myself it was okay if I didn’t have time to exercise today but I’d have to try harder tomorrow, and I felt a lot better. I’ll have to try that again. 11 months ago

Like I said earlier, no exercise for this guy in pretty much two weeks. But since I committed to this smaller step, things have been going better. Three days until the week is over and I’ve only got two more days of exercising to go. I’ve been focusing on the exercise bike because my motivation definitely doesn’t extend to “getting outside where other people can see me exercise,” but at least something is better than nothing. I can do it, right? Sure. Or something. 12 months ago

45 minutes of exercise 4 times per week was two steps up from my last goal, and apparently it was too many steps. So I’m keeping the days but bringing the time requirement down 15 minutes. Let’s see if that’s less scary/more achievable! 12 months ago
