for the holidays. I am doing well on getting the outside lights and decorating done. I am spending time each day sorting through the inside decorations. I have poked my daughter and granddaughter a little everyday to get the house decluttered and cleaned so we can put up the inside decorations. I have asked them both to spend 15 minutes a day on their rooms and the living room. I am determined to enjoy this Christmas season even though there will not be funds for gift exchanges. I am only concerned with buying my granddaughter a gift and the “Giving Tree” gift at church. I want to make the gift for church part of my granddaughters Christmas tradition. Giving and/or doing for others to celebrate the reason for the season. 6 months ago

“To take the first step in faith, you don’t have to see the whole
staircase: just take the first step.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This is a perfect quote to go along with the flylady principles. I don’t know why I let myself stray away from this system and have to end up in chaos before bringing myself back in line. 7 months ago

I get behind and overwhelmed quickly. I wonder how many times will I regress before I have conquered my organizational and clutter habit. 7 months ago

I worked on printing out and setting up a financial control journal. I read through it and it is all common sense suggestions, and it has many practical suggestions. I think it will help to go through the journanl and do all of the exercises. I think that I need to to the scary things like list how much money I actually owe. I need to find out how much more money I need to bring home to make my bills. I need to get myself on a weekly budget and adhere to it ridgedly; so that I can get myself out of the hole I am in. 9 months ago

I am refocusing on the FlyLady principles, and I am working on my Control Journal. I think this will help me on my routine for the day, and maximize my success. I tend to do well for a few days and then I get overwhelmed. I am so worried about money and bills that my energy gets spent. I need to stop worrying about money and work on getting the house organized while I am looking for another job. Worrying has never paid a bill or put a dollar in the bank. 9 months ago

I can’t even say I am fluttering yet, but there is definate progress. I push myself to do things now instead of later. I don’t let the lack of time keep me from swiping and swishing. I am still motivated to make big changes in little steps. Thanks to the Flylady and her followers and the motivation I receive from “Thingers” 9 months ago

I carry my timer around the house with me, and I also take it outside in the yard. I often go over the 15 minutes. It still is a nudge for me to do those jobs I have been putting off. I can do anything for 15 minutes. Yesterday, I did several jobs that I had been putting off, cutting up the landscaping timbers for the trash, scrubbing the deck steps (they get slippery with moss), scrubbed off all the plastic chairs and tables (dirty and moldy), weeded and planted the rest of the squash plants, started weeding the last bad patch, crushed two bags of cans. I also started checking around the house, spraying for those darn carpenter ants, and assessing the damage I have to repair. I may have to call a professional for some of the repairs. 10 months ago

Dressed with tie shoes, bed is made, laundry started, fruit cut up and sink reshined. Checked my planner. Paid a couple of bills due. It’s Thursday; so garbage goes out tonight. I like to get this together and ready to go before I go to work. I need to run out for some garbage stickers and lawn and leaf bags. Tomorrow I will need to go over to the Dealership to get the oil changed and a checkover for trip. I better put that in my planner. I keep putting it off. Now weeding for 15 minutes, water the annuals, and hopefully wax a panel on the van. 11 months ago

Ok, I have the get up and get dressed right away with tie shoes. I have become consistent with shining my sink. I need to start making my bed everyday. I am washing the sheets today, and I probably won’t get them dry before leaving for work. Tomorrow I will make my bed before leaving the bedroom. 12 months ago
