crystalz Changing my life, turning it upside down.
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
How I did it: I love reading and although I doubt I ever read 100 again (on purpose) in a year's time I enjoyed every minute of this achieving this goal. I am on Shelfari and GoodReads and really gained support from my online friends for this project. They were able to steer me toward books I enjoyed through their reviews and the discussion posts. I also read some of these books as group reads or buddy reads with my online friends. It really helps to have someone that is interested in reading as much as you are to spur you on. I also used my local libraries to check out books and to borrow books through the interlibrary loan program. If I couldn't get the book through the library fast enough or if it was a book I wasn't in a hurry to read I swapped for it on Book Mooch.
Lessons & tips: I didn't do a great job tracking my books here but I did a great job on Shelfari so I was able to go back and fill in the missing. It's good to record the book as having been read as soon as possible after reading it. I've also learned to review the book soon after reading it so that when I go back over the list I can refresh my memory. When you read this many books, some of them fade together especially if the story line has similarities.

I made up for the short month in May with a very long month in June.
I know I read many of the Hardy Boys books when I was 10 or so but I can’t say I’m a real fan now.
James White’s Sector General stories and novels are awesome and I’m enjoying re-reading them after 15+ years.
I started the Charlaine Harris vampire books when I decided to watch HBO’s True Blood. So far, the books are better than the show.

Anthem and Atlas Shrugged
Although I think at over 1100 pages, Atlas Shrugged counts as 3 books :-)
carlyurban i know where i want to be
since the last i did read rare beasts as well as chosen but also
the secret lives of men & women, which only barely counts. it IS a book, but it’s one of those collections of post secrets. but it’s my list, and i say it counts. ;)
then i read the learners. very good book. not at all what i was expecting. pleasantly surprised. good story and very visually cool. definitely a book for graphic designers.
then i re-read the giver. (yes, i’ve decided to count books that i’ve read before… on that note i plan to re-read the harry potter books and you can be sure you’ll see them on my list.)
then i got through a version of the truth. pretty cute. no real major twists but a fun, light, easy read. and then most recently finished white panties, dead friends, and other bits and pieces about love (may not have got that last part exactly right, but you get the point) :) that was a collection of poems with a guy that has lived locally since 78 or 79 i think. it was cool to read about places here in town but overall… not exactly my style of poetry. so now i’m working on tattoo girl and still working on hocus pocus. i don’t know where i put it so it’s been out of sight and out of mind, but i need to finish it before i forget what’s happening. ;) so that’s it for now, that brings me to 16.
1. Intergalactic Medicine Show, Orson Scott Card Anthology
2. Ducks: Guide to the Durulz, Bryan Steele
3. GURPS Magic, Steve Jackson
4. Mage-Guard of Hamor, L. E. Modesitt Jr.
5. Callahan’s Con, Spider Robinson
6. Maxnome Foe, John Ringo
7. The Jennifer Morgue, Charles Stross
(I finished 25 books in the first quarter (10, 8, 7) so I am on pace for 100 books this year. I seem to be slowing down though. And so far, my goal of 4 classics this year is way, way off.
