paint my dresser

so I decided to re-paint my dresser. It’s wooden with green accents. I’m going to paint it all black, and fling blacklight reactive paint on it. It’ll look crazy with all the colored and black lights in my room. :)

Spray paint is illegal in the city. Apparently there has been too much graffiti. So now, I have to drive myself out to the burbs and get stuck in traffic so that I can finish a job that I started weeks ago. I plan to have this goal completed by this weekend – I am tired of looking at mis-matched dressers.

so down the street there was a white dresser with the ugliest hardware just like the desk and bedside table i painted like two weeks ago.

So my mom and I took it, yaaaaaay for matching things. So now I have another project. But it’s tallish and less wide than the dresser i have now so it would also be better for an apartment.

Except that it’s fricking heavy…just like my other furniture. Or maybe I am just a weakling…

whoo hoo…my dads able to get his hands on two free dressers for me, so wow that will save $50!!!!!

Ever since I found out I was going to take my dirty old three drawer childhood dresser with me when I moved I knew something had to be done. The yellow that used to be so vibrant is now fading like a newspaper left in the sun and the shiny white knobs are no longer shiny or white not to mention the fact that they are all loose and wiggly and some of them aren’t even there anymore. I made plans to paint it and get new knobs and make it pretty. My parents even got me new knobs for Christmas… in 2006. I think it’s time to fix this dresser.

i’m having a tough time finishing this task…i have mostly stripped it down to a few little bits of paint that need a lot of time and a wire brush to remove. i need motivation to finish the stripping so that i can actually paint this baby!
i’m thinking a dark, glossy colour…maybe black or chocolate brown…

I finally finished painting my dresser it came out really pretty and creates a like new piece of furniture to my rooM!!!
