I am not actually doing one creative thing a day…yet…but the improvement is still having an effect. Isn’t it interesting that the more you use your creativity, the more creative you become?
How I did it: I decided every day I need to do something to use my talents and for enjoyment. I have gotten into photoshop, photography, more into blogging, and I took orchestra for fun to be able to work on things I already enjoy but didn't do enough.
Lessons & tips: Make it time about you, it makes it a lot easier. Since I go to a large university, sometimes it meant just going out of my way to do something I normally wouldn't do.

I’m even writing again! Yay! I’m journaling (strictly for me) but I’ve also returned to a blog I started a while back; my goal was to write an article every week. Yeah, that lasted several months then my life exploded. Anyway, I wrote something over the last two days of last week and posted it this weekend! Yay!

Well, my computer crashed recently (I am currently using my husband’s). That has led to a LOT of non-computer time recently – I’ve started reading again (currently: Robinson Crusoe) and I also started crocheting again. It feels great.

I am, by nature, a creative person. And I’m NOT creating at all right now. This is not natural. I need to shift my focus; I think it would help in other areas of my life as well. This is just one symptom of a greater malaise. Sigh.

I do plenty of creative stuff – but I’m not taking the time to write it all down. So I’m giving up on this goal and will find a better approach to practicing creativity.

Almost a year ago, Riverdancer was hospitalized for a lengthy time period, quite some distance from where we live. My work schedule made it possible only to visit on weekends. That particular unit only allowed visitation during two one-hour periods. So I had significant time to “kill.” On this particular day, I wandered about with my cell phone snapping “interesting” pictures. In this case, several pictures of exotic cars in front of a local restaurant.
Last night I discovered a wonderful little program, autostitch which allows one to stitch together many pictures to make a panorama. So I wondered what it would do with my several shots of exotic cars.
It was fun finding out!

The Little Black Beast and I walked a distance that normally takes around 20 minutes. Today I brought my camera … and it took over an hour. Then I spent time playing with pictures in GIMP. Here’s my first creation.
