While following my previous diet, I allowed myself one cheat day per week. There were specific reasons for this, and having this cheat day increased the overall effectiveness of the diet.
Now that I have switched to raw vegan, of course processes in my body are running differently than while on a low carb diet. That cheat day is no longer needed.
Well, I decided I’d try it anyways to see how it would turn out. Yesterday I ate some pizza, and had a sugary Starbucks drink, allowing myself refined sugars, dairy, oils, and grain products.
I felt terrible. I felt heavy, lazy, tired, unmotivated, bloated, and just yucky. I still feel terrible and it’s the next day. I woke up dehydrated and feeling hung over. No more cheat days for me man!
Now onward to the market to pick up some fruit :) 10 months ago

I decided it is better for me to take a raw vegan protein supplement than to continue eating animals. It’s not ideal, as I don’t care for taking supplements, but it is necessary to fill in the cracks of my diet.
Now that protein is taken care of, I believe I’m covered on all sides.
I think I have a petty bulletproof plan now that will keep me from being deficient in any nutrient. We’ll see how it goes! 11 months ago

I am coming out of a sort of slow carb, pesco-vegetarian diet. It was the latest in a series of experiments, usually lasting about 3 months. It was a pretty good diet, but now it’s time to move on. All the diets I have tried have been good, to some degree, and experimenting is fun, but now I feel like I need to settle on something for a while. At least a year or so.
I really don’t want to eat any sort of animal anymore. And I don’t want to eat cooked food. I also want it to be a whole food diet. No fancy smoothies or protein shakes or anything like that.
The only problem is the sardines. I have found canned sardines to be a powerful food. They are an outstanding source of well balanced protein and fat. I eat a can every day. So far I haven’t found a suitable raw vegan alternative. I don’t want to dive into this diet without a steady, measurable, and practical protein source.
So for now, it is a MOSTLY raw, pesco-vegetarian diet. As soon as I nail down a protein source, it will be all raw and vegan baby! 11 months ago
