I’ve come to realize that pottery is my therapy, my zen. If I try to sell my wares, then I fear it will only replace its theraputic qualities with stressors.
I’m not really giving up on this goal, I’m just changing it…
Instead of selling my pottery, I want to teach pottery to others.

So, I’ve had my wheel for years. My husband finally conceeded to a studio (translation: decent sized shed in my backyard). My kiln was probably the best surprise of all time. See?? I have everything I need! I’m in business!
On a whim, I decided to make all of my Christmas presents this year. That’s right, other than pottery supplies, I didn’t buy a damn thing. It was simultaneously on of the most gratifying and stressful stunts I’ve pulled off. Presents went over well with the family, but we all know they’re biased.
I guess, some part of me just thinks that in order to feel like a true, bona fide artist – I need to sell some stuff.
So my goal is to build up a nice little collection and start hitting up local craft shops and galleries to see if they would be willing to display my things!! I’m excited!! I’m really going to do it!!
