I switched to Firefox when it was still called Phoenix and I’ve never looked back. I wouldn’t use IE on a bet. Opera is an excellent browser but it’s bloated with functions you can pick and choose under Firefox. Opera also has annoying banner ads in their free version-otherwise you have to pay them not to bug you. Also many sites, such as GMail, don’t won’t using Opera. Firefox has a much larger community of programmers writing extensions for every conceivable function you’d want in a browser. Firefox ad-blocking is without peer. Also important to me is the fact that Firefox is an Opensource project. I’ve donated money to the Firefox project and will again. It’s not about it just being free (meaning at no cost) Who really knows what’s going on under the hoods of IE and Opera? With Firefox, you can download the sources and go over them with a fine toothed comb-should you be so inclined.
