Today is a clean up, tidying, finishing and paying day for me.

I am already accompanied by Monster cat who has usurped a place on the desk in the sun. (One of the beauties of our winter is the warmth of the sun, when one is protected from the icy wind.)

I am participating in a competitive workshop with social entrepreneurs this afternoon, in the centre of the city.

Then I am going to an evenign awards function with DH, awash with money.

Meeting with a marketing guru; finally get emails down to 0; do travel log for taxes; play 3 pieces on piano; speak to daughter, write a haiku for son; get substitute gardener who cannot speak much English to actually do some of the necessary tasks other than sweeping; dinner with DH’s glamorous friend from the bank, after gym. 10 months ago

Impulsively accepted an invotation to a concert, so I am flying to Durban later on today. 10 months ago

Finished at 10 minutes past midnight, awake (anxious) at 3h15, worked busily from 3h50, finished document, had it bound, a CD cut, drove 40km acorss the city to deliver it on time, went to a coffee and a devli’s food cup cake frosted with glittery icing, went to another (difficult) meeting, drove back, was accosted by funnygranny, spoke to BP, visited with sister. 10 months ago

And I have already attended a meeting – 3 in one – which invovled a video shoot, a discussion re a problem project and a discussion re future plans.

And today: tidy, prepare for BP’s arrival; dishes in dishwasher, clothes away, tidy study, flowers, airport, meeting with technical person, planning with BP, meeting with coach, fetching info,work on tender, make dinner.

And I have indulged myself by getting up late. Have supervised workers who replaced a broken window pane.Now getting ready to go to reflexology session. Will only commence work thereafter. 10 months ago

A town in decline. The municipality has not renewed the leases of the businesses there, based on the tourist trade. Instead, they are giving the leases to totally untried and unlicensed vendors.

A ‘slop around’ day, after a 12 hour excursion into the Kruger National Park yesterday.

Today we are going to the Kruger National Park. I have booked and paid for the trip.

And today we are going to visist several spelndid waterfalls in this area, mainly becasue DH loves the soudn and sight of water splashing about.

We will return in time to watch the Wimbledon men’s tennis final.
