Although I did get all 1,400 calories last week courtesy of the snowboarding, I’m still off on this. I’m going to start a day early this week and include Sunday. I’m also going to refocus the Insanity program as well and finish it out.

This week was a bit of a catastrophe… I just stopped after Wednesday for no good reason. I’m focusing on the fact I did 4 days of Insanity in a row for the first time. Refocusing once more on staying healthy. I may even work on acclimating on running in the cold (hate, hate, hate) to provide some variety.

It looks like I have the 1400 calories a week down, so I need to change this up a bit. Basically, once I hit 1400 last week, I lost motivation. I need that not to happen, so I’ll make this a 2 part challenge: a minimum of 1400 calories AND 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 6 times a week.

I made it last week! I didn’t even count the calories I burned doing the Insanity program, just the pure cardio events. My goal is to stay on track this week and get in another 1400 in pure cardio events. It looks like it’ll all be inside with rain the first 2 days of the week and colder temps for the last 2.

I’m pretty sure the hike up the Great Wall took care of all 1400 in one fell swoop last week and that’s not counting walking around everything else (nothing in Beijing is small…) so I’m pretty content with where I am; I just can’t quantify it. For the rest of the week, the plan is as follows:

Week 39 was a huge success and I feel so much better. I will be working to get my 1,400 calories in before I leave for China on Friday this week. Given that, there won’t be any bike riding as the sunset times make riding after work too dangerous.

Didn’t make it last week. There was so much going on and Mk’s leaving took most of my attention. This week will be bad again between the typhoon tomorrow and the trip to Japan at the end of the week, there won’t be much exercising. Life is going to get demanding now and I will have to focus harder on getting in the exercise.

Yes, this week I’ve skipped 3 workouts with a high likelihood of skipping the rest… Sigh. I knew it would be harder without T and Cn. And then I go and add a further distraction… 9 months ago
The head cold was probably the result of the previous week’s heat and humidity. The comings and goings from near 100 degree temps with 100% humidity into the air conditioned chill were too much. This week though, there are different challenges: T is taking some vacation time starting Wednesday and Cn is already away on a business trip so my workout buddies aren’t available and I know from the past that’s not good. I will persist and keep at it; looking for alternatives.

Based on Spark, I need to burn 1,400 calories every week to maintain mental health. So, I’ve changed swim twice a week to better reflect the level of activity I need each week.
The plan for reaching this each will be as follows:

Run 3x
Bike 2x
