I left California about 1 month ago, and it is definitely worth it. I’m closer to my family than I have ever been, and my future is looking brighter.

Yes, we’re leaving Silly-Con Valley, home of the self-absorbed, land of the materialistic. We’re headed off to Chicago, and no one says, “Oh, I hear there’s great X there …”. No, it’s always, “How will you put up with the weather?” There’s plenty of great X in Chicago, and from now on, if I hear of anyone moving out here, I’ll ask, “How will you put up with the arrogance?”
So bad here that you wonder why people are still lining up to pay $600k and upwards for a house here. I’ve lived in the Bay Area my whole life and it just staggers me how far and hard its fallen. Geez, social graces don’t even exist here anymore.
