Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Collectorofcats 23. Men at Work

This picture, although taken last week at my place of employment, was left forgotten on my camera. These guys work hard.

JWillowThanks to mrsrad!

Unfortunatley I came nowhere near completing the August list but I really want to thank mrsrad for such a great challenge. I really enjoyed looking for what I did end up capturing this month.

And now, looking forward to September! 2 years ago

This is Miles, from the Nobel House of Musical Schons. His father is Neal Schon of Journey. His Grandfather was also a world class musician. Miles sat in on three songs last week with mrrad’s band last week at a charity gig. 2 years ago

Donna20. The Way Things Ought to Be

Every oil splotch on the road should make a pleasant design…like this heart shape. 2 years ago

Donna36. Illusions

It looks like a rainbow around the sun. That’s what crystals in the sky will do. Cooler temperatures are on their way. 2 years ago

Donna14. The Art of Happiness

I find myself happiest when I’m near trees and open natural spaces. This is another place along the trail from today’s biking to work. 2 years ago

Donna28. The Bridge Across Forever

I bicycled over this little bridge on my way home from work today. I guess the “forever” part is that it’s over a designated wetlands nature area…I hope it can be reserved as such, safe from suburban sprawl forever… 2 years ago

danidee2715. The last full measure

Yes, I’m tracking my calories.

No, I’m not ‘dieting.’

This is the last full meal—and measure of the month. Tonight’s dinner—sauteed kale and white beans with mini pizzas. It tasted way better than it looks. 2 years ago

Donna12. The Truth Is . . .

I don’t live in a good place to take pictures of the moon. We’re in a valley. Here’s last night’s attempt.

I love molliemoonlight’s photograph of last night’s full moon. 2 years ago
