Always wanted to answer the question “What do you want to do with your life?” with this.
How to i wanna rock
How I did it: For just under $200, I bought myself an adapter that allows me to plug in my stage microphone driectly to the computer, record my guitars and create a drum track! Now, I am finally putting down songs I have been performing and playing at gigs, clubs, parties and campfires for years. I really had no idea itwould be this easy, and I wish I would have done it a decade ago..
Lessons & tips: If you have songs of your own, or even a new take on an old classic of someone elses', GO FOR IT. Don't do what I did and procrastinate. It is so rewarding playing your own tracks for friends and family,
Resources: Go to any major music store and talk to the computer recording guy, I have started learning CuBase and honestly, I thought it would be a lot harder. get agood stage mic, an acoustic guitar, and a copy of Acoustca Beattracks for drums. If you want, you can buy a cheap amp and electric guitar and bass to fill in your soundm but even just getting it on track with a simple unplugged acoustic guitar is rewarding enough.

i wanna rock, as in everyone will know me because i’m cool… like being one of the top student and at the same time, doing my favorite things and getting humble…
Back in college I played in a band live on stage for a college dance. It’s even more fun to be on stage than it is to be out there dancing. What a rush to be playing rock music and seeing your friends and others having a great time dancing to the music. It almost feels like YOU are playing them as your music guides their dance beat and all that energy is in unison. It’s a real treat to be a part of that.
“We’re not gonna take it, NO! We ain’t gonna take it! We’re not gonna take it, ANYMOOOOOOORE!”
I’m far from rocking, but slowly getting there.
For all those seeking inspiration, I recommend giving the following a shot:
Load up your mp3 player with AC/DC’s “For those about to rock,” Survivor’s “Eye of the tiger,” and Tenacious D’s “Rock your socks off.” Listen to the songs on repeat at maximum rock volume while reading “Gary Benchley, Rock star” (by Paul Ford) and pushing 100 rock squats a second.
JamSmooth is Whispers and Megaphones.
I totally rock! I’m the man! Anyone who knows me knows this is true!
