I’ve found this new hobby to be more active than I originally thought it would be. You can really make jewelry out of anything which gave me the idea to start making it out of recycled products. About a year ago I started making bracelets out of paper beads. It was cool but not creative enough for me so now I’m at music stores (another passion of mine – music), flea markets (and I love to look at the antiques) and many other places that keep me moving and active. I turned what could’ve been a sedentary homebound hobby into an active pursuit of creativity and I’m really proud of myself. Plus it’s helping me find other things I really enjoy doing. I’ve met a lot of people and one of my other goals was to make 5 new good, close friends which has happened, simply by exploring new interests.

I’ve always known that there were a few interests that I was really passionate about but recently I have discovered that I have a bunch more that I haven’t really pursued. Like snorkeling. I tried in once in Mexico and loved it but never went again. Or skiing. I’ve never been. I want to establish a wide range of interests – not just in the arts which is where I usually invest my time. I do love reading, writing, singing, crafting, knitting and scrapbooking but these aren’t necessarily active activities for me so I’ve decided to list it as a goal and define some other, more physical, interests. My neighbor talked me into playing tennis with her and I loved it – who knew? She’s REALLY good and I learned a lot while getting in some serious exercise and having a blast. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to die. I also love to swim but hardly ever do it so I’m thinking of joining the “Y”. It’s cheap (and they have a treadmill that I really would like to start using too). I can take the kids for free and they can work out or take a class. There’s even a nursery.

so far cross stitch ( my own cool and sophisticated designs )
painting
soldering (for jewelry making)
There are so many things to do between the hours of 11pm and 3am and not all of them are bad. I knew my Mom was wrong.
