I had a choir teacher who always believed that I could sing. I thought taking voice lessons and joining church choir would be a way to honor her. Trust me…I need lessons first…
How to take a singing class
How I did it: Asked around, looked in the paper for vocal instructors. Found one I enjoyed that was very good and stuck with it. My mom was going to go to college for vocal performance until she changed her degree and all we do around the house is sing so loud our neighbors comment on it!
At my first lesson I was anxious as always, but by the end my voice was at it's full capacity.
Lessons & tips:
- Be picky with your teacher, make sure they're teaching you correctly!
- Be open-minded to change. Chances are, you're singing wrong. If you think your voice sounds weak the way your teacher tells you, it's because you need more practice doing it the right way. It will pay off I swear
- Enjoy it!
