It’s hard to support you family when their significant other doesn’t bother to keep you informed.
I’m on facebook the other day and my sister in law puts in her status something about taking her husband (my brother) to the ER and he had to be admitted. I called my dad and he was unaware of it. He gave me her number and I called her. She said it was no big deal. (her opinion) They admitted he because he was having chest pains and shortness of breath. This isn’t the first time it’s happened. He was admitted a couple years ago because he collapsed at work and ended up in a diabetic coma. He was in ICU for almost a week. Yes, I think I have reason to worry. I told her I would appreciate if she keeps us posted on what is going on with my brother in the future. I know my SO would do the same if he was in her shoes.
Urggggghhhhh…..

had to have surgery last week to have some polyps removed from his sinuses. He’d only recently found out he needed to have surgery and that he had the polyps. He asked that I be there at the surgery center the day of his surgery just in case something went wrong so decisions could be made if they needed to be. Luckily all went well and he is recovering comfortably at home. From what I understand the polyps were quite large and have caused him problems with breathing out of his nose for years. Once he is completely recovered he should be able to breathe out of both nostrils, which he hasn’t done it way too many years.
I’m glad I could be there for him and that it meant so much to him for me to take the time off from work to be there.

They said the chest pains had to do with high blood pressure and ended up sending him home. They put him on some more meds before they did that. Not good.
I’m going to try and arrange to spend some time with him this weekend. I think he really needs his big sis right now.

His issues are really coming to a head. He called me today from the emergency room. He was having chest pains. He thought he might be having a heart attack. He’s way too young for that – he’s only 36.
I’m concerned about his stress level and how he manages it. He needs a better support system. The one he has now (wife and housemate – her best friend) are doing a pretty piss poor job in helping him. If anything they make things tougher for him while he busts he tail working 70 hours a week while they sit home on their butts.
I am glad he is in the hospital right now. They are keeping him under observation for 24 hours. I am still worried nonetheless.
