I was kind of in good health few months ago but as soon I got married, things changed dramatically. Everything changed, eating habits, exercising and whole lot of stuff. I realized that I’m loosing track of a healthy life. So its decided now that I will be back on fitness track and be as I was 6 years ago. Amen.
And Caitlyn I wish you best of everything.

I’ve decided to compete in April. I’m training hard still. Twice a day week days. Eating to my diet still but allowing myself a cheat meal once a week.
Going well =) Oh, how I love to exercise.

My life is so structured now and it has to be.
Get up at 5am, eat, go to the gym, work, gym, home, cook, pack my bag, salsa, sleep, repeat. Somewhere in there I manage to fit a boyfriend and some social life.
It’s good and essential but sometimes when I’m tired and feeling low or carb depleted I just want to give up and everything seems like it’s closing in on me. If I don’t live by the plan, things tend to fall apart. E.g. If i don’t cook and pack my bag as soon as I get home I get lazy and end up staying up later than I should, I don’t get enough sleep and then feel like shit the next day etc.
It’s probably the make or break aspect of competition for me. Quitting is not an option and majority of the time I love the plan and am constantly having “ah-ha!” moments discovering things I that will save me time, make things easier.
The real test of my character is whether or not I keep going, doing the things that I have to even while I’m exhausted and just want to stop.

I feel better about my body, than I ever have. I’m stronger than majority of women at my gym, also majority of men. I feel healthy, sexy, feminine, strong, empowered, driven.

It has been 8 weeks (this being my 9th) that I have been training now. It is unlikely I will be ready to compete in October, however I am still setting this date as my target.
Body fat is still relatively high from where I need to be however my progress is steady. My muscles are getting more solid. I’ll be excited to see some definition once I lose more fat. They are under there!
I did my first posing lesson yesterday and it was great. I find it fairly easy (because I’m a poser har har). Gives me something to practice regularly. I’m glad I have started learning so early on in the process as I’ll pretty much have it perfect come comp time.
I’m getting as many professional experts on my side as possible. One for nutrition, one for training and the other for coaching. One of the difficult things in this adventure is focusing on one person and zoning out all the random advice from everyone else you hear. Consistency is key and everyone thinks they are an expert. I just have to follow my plan.
My hormones are all over the place. I’ve gone permanently off the pill as I’ve just learnt how detrimental it is to my training goals and the long term effect it has on my body. The come off is messing with my system around “that time”. It’s all a learning curb and I’m trying to take each day as it comes.
This is the difficult part of this journey. Where the results aren’t visibly evident. You just have to trust what you’re doing is right. It comes down to consistency, vision and a shit load of hard work. Will it work for me? Hell yes.
