I went to university this year for a couple months, absolutely hated it, and ended up leaving.. now I need to choose a new college to apply to, and a new program, and I’m too scared that it won’t be a good fit (again!) so I just keep putting it off and hoping it goes away. :(
How to choose a college
How I did it: Well I really had no idea so I'm just like what the heck and I just chose Purdue. And I'm still unsure. So this would be the wrong way to choose a college, because I applied in March just before the deadline and I missed the scholarship deadline so I'm missing out on thousands of dollars. And I'm kind of wishing I went to Colorado now... =\
Lessons & tips: Actually start looking junior year. Don't put it off.
Resources: Websites, brochures, stuff like that. Don't worry it will all come in the mail. haha

Senior year has been completely hectic and I’ve been second guessing myself the whole time. I’ve been plagued by the insecurity that maybe I won’t get into any college at all, maybe I can’t survive away from home, maybe I can’t hack it, maybe maybe maybe. Now all the college acceptances are starting to come in and I still have tough decisions to make. I’ve never had a real “front runner” and now that I have so many options, I have so many things to weigh.
i’m between cal poly, cu boulder, and wash u for architecture. and ball state as a backup, but no one wants me to go there haha. iiiiiidddddddddkkkkk what to dooo!
This is proving to be kind of really difficult.
I have two choices so far, one of which I’m not sure I like very much (anymore, at least – it’d be major settling if I went with this one) and the other is extremely expensive and hard to get into.
But I’m visiting the second choice soon, so I suppose I’ll see how that goes.
I have to choose a couple more I pretend to want to visit soon as well, and I guess these pretend choices will have to become real choices if I actually want to go to school.

EDIT SIX MONTHS LATER!
I got into my second choice, and I’m still waiting to hear back from my first choice. So there we have it.
(I also got into the two other schools I applied to, so that’s kind of an ego boost, I guess.)
This was so difficult! Finding if you want to be in state, out of state, close, not so close. I recommend that you find out what you would like to major in first. I know that’s really hard but really. If you figure that out, then you can just look around for the best college with your major and then get accepted!
BU or univ. of maryland…two days left and im still completely in between. wish me luck.
its definately worth doing. it took me forever but i finally decided where i want to go. all i have to do is send in my tuition deposit :)
may 1st is the deadline for me to choose a college. i have been slacking so much. i havent visited or researched any of my colleges yet. i got into 4 colleges and i have no idea where to go from there. i am running out of time. AH!
I made my (I hope) final college decision last Thursday when I decided to attend Texas A&M University.
There were lots of reasons for me. Great academics, nice big school, great facilities. Corp guys in uniforms. :-) But the biggest reason for me was the awesome school spirit and camaraderie between Aggies. There’s just no replacement for that!
My advice, if you’re still in the college-picking boat, is to try to relax. This is really not the end of the world, though I certainly thought it was a few days ago. Also, visit the campus if you at all possibly can. It makes all the difference.
The best advice I received about it was this: make a list of what you want in a college and rank the list by how important each list item is to you. Then make a chart of all the colleges you’re considering, giving each one points for how well it meets your standards. Figure out some way to weight the more important factors (I multiplied the rank of the factor by the points the college received for that category to get a final score for each category).
Lastly, add it up. Now look at it. Either a) you are like me and you made the one you liked get the most points, or b) your heart falls inside you when you look at it and you wish College A had been highest instead of College B. Then go to College A, because now you know what you really want. (You can also get someone to flip a coin and not show you what it is. While the coin is in the air, are you thinking “Heads! Heads!” or “Tails! Tails!”? There’s your choice.)
Lastly, when you know what you want, don’t let anyone talk you out of it. But don’t be afraid to shop around and change your mind. If you made the right choice to begin with and you change your mind, you’ll eventually settle back to your first choice. I did.
God bless you through the whole nerve-wracking, stressful process.
