"Amazing."
How I did it: Since Manila has already been very well polluted, I knew that I don't have a shot at a lovely stargazing moment there. So when I finally had a vacation far from home, in Boracay, with a person I love, I know it would be the perfect time for me to watch the stars with him.
We weren't really planning to go out that evening but we still did because we were a bit bored and we wanted to explore the island and the people. We went to our friend's hotel and dragged him along. Since we were on a tight budget, we opted to buy our drinks from a local convenience store, rather than to buy from the bars. We bought the bottles, cups, and a bag of ice to the beachfront and sat down on the cold sand. The sky wasn't pretty clear that time yet so I got dismayed.
After sharing stories, reminiscing and goofing around, I was the one who first got tipsy from all the drinking. So I got quiet and bored and that's when I noticed that the sky already cleared up! The sky was very well lit up and it was beautiful! Living in the city took away from me the opportunity to appreciate nature so I was really amazed when I saw how a sky really looked like. There were MILLIONS of tiny specks, some crazily sparkle while others maintain their bright glows. I was so amazed that I started to speak out my thoughts like: Oh, where is Orion's Belt? Back in Manila, I can easily point out the constellation Orion's Belt which is, I think, the only one pretty much visible from there. But in Boracay, I gave up looking for a constellation because stars filled up the sky and I certainly didn't have the skill of identifying a constellation.
My love and my friend looked up also and suddenly, they seemed to have froze, maybe trying to freeze in their memories such a lovely sight.
That night was really amazing. Aside from seeing such a beautiful sky, I was with a person I truly love and with a friend who I just realized had a special soul, with whom I had conversations which made me contemplate more about life and people.
Lessons & tips: Always be ready because you wouldn't really know when the opportunity would come along.
