Ok, so I drive like I’m either transporting human cargo all the time, or I’m as old as Miss Daisy. Secretly though, I want to put my foot right on that gas, and just go for it! Feel my heart palpitate, and get that devious smirk that pops up once in a while.

I had a 1989 bmw 740IL with the V-12 twin turbo i could get that car up to 200mph and did so on many occasions. and got more tickets for reckless driving than anyone should. my advice is follow the spee limit just because you have a fast car doesnt mean you need to red line it go to a drag strip if you want to go fast its more safe and people will apprechiate you going fast unlike out on the roads.

it was late so no one was on the freeway.. long stretch of road (highway shall remain anonymous).. it was a loaner car from lexus (ES350).. the computer stopped me right below 140 and would not let me go any faster
funny thing is (at that speed) the car is just as smooth as it is going 65

Keep in mind that this was 4:00 in the afternoon when traffic was packed up, then non-existent, then packed up and so on. I hit 115mph several times and I was weaving through traffic the whole time. I don’t know how I made it all the way without a cop catching me. I was scared to death the whole time and had a few near misses. Two hours of intense concentration coupled with intense fear really sucked.

JP Creighton rising to shine on a rainy cloudy May Sunday;waiting for coffee, here.
I suppose if conditions are such that I’m the only one who might get hurt.
Of course now I realized I have children, wife, parents, etc. So it behooves me to survive and thrive.

It’s not the fastest car in the world. But I’m a fan of the Z series.
I made a drive from Minneapolis to Big Sandy, Montana to visit a friend one summer. I was alone in the car. So, on some back road where I was less likely to run into other people, I put my foot down. She climbed and climbed and climbed. My eyes were watching the road and taking the ever-so-quickest glances at the digital speedometer. 137….142…....147…........149.
And then….all power cut out. Shit! I blew my engine! In the middle of nowhere. The car slowed down. I tapped the pedal. Nothing. I think she slowed down to around 120 or so when the pedal started working again. Whew!
Damn governors!!
