I’ve always been poor at networking. I meet people, never follow up with them, and let a potential friend / business contact slip through my fingers for good.

A lot of it stems from the fact I don’t like to ask anyone to do anything for me – always perceived it as a sign of weakness. I know that is a silly thought, and quite often people will feel very special and important if you ask them to help you out!

I am going to overcome this thought, and ask for help wherever I can. Even if it’s something I could do by myself, but would be easier with an aide. If it just serves the purpose to touch base with that person again, then it’s worth it!

I had a blast in the last few weeks. Hanging out with old friends, meeting new people.

This will be helpful for me in the future to learn how to network and learn from other people more.

Maybe this will lead to more opportunities.

I really want to do this. From what I understand, you invite a person that you want to learn form to lunch or coffee of something. Thats really no in my budget right now. Most editors near me are in NYC…nothing in NYC is in my budget right now.

I contacted 2 previous professor to ask them to look out for any opportunities that would be good fore me.

3. Research subjects and write letters requesting informational interviews.

I’ve removed this from my list because I think I’ve got this down now. Considering the fact that I created and run two networking groups, and belong to several others, this is something I don’t need to track on 43T

I need to join a business club.

NETWORK! NETWORK! NETWORK! I love meeting new people and learning from them. I want to see what valuable knowledge and experiences I can take from other people as well as share everything I have to offer!
