walk on the beach

We just got to the condo and the sun was coming up

Thanksgiving weekend might seem an unlikely time to walk on the beach, but that’s exactly what I did. It was a lovely, clear, sunny day. I’d actually intended to go shopping, but changed my mind when I saw how nice the weather was.

Walked the entire length, about three miles each way, out and back. There were quite a few others out walking, too. I guess we all needed to walk off some of our Thanksgiving dinners.

this is something I do do, even if it’s slightly less often than I’d really like to !

It was lovely, although sasha one of my dogs was very hyper and wouldn’t stop barking yelping and whining. I wouldn’t let her off the lead because she’s not very good at coming back to me on the beach, and I don’t like calling and calling her before she comes back to me. I’m hoping that if I let her off when I’m walking her in the park and she learns to come back to me all the time then she’ll get better on the beach. She’s been very difficult to train because she’s so hyper but she’s getting there :-)
I also had fun driving my jeep through the water!! Yeeha!!! I love it :-D

well more like drove onto the beach and let the dogs run around like mental things!! I was on my way back from a meeting with my accountant so I wasn’t really dressed for the beach. It was good to be on it though. I’d really like to walk my dogs more than I do.

walk on the beach more often

the pic is one of my local beaches (I know I’m soooo lucky – this one is about 7 mins drive from me) and these are my two dogs running around like lunatics :-)

i vacation to beaches and i love the feeling of barefoot walking through the sand. Splashing in the waves as you go along is fun too. Even if your with people the sound out on an empty stretching beach overwhelms any thoughts but calm. I would love to go back and walk for miles up a beach and lie down with the water at my toes and the sand in my hair.

I lived in Miami for five years. Walked on the beach dozens of times at night, almost never during the day. Lived in Southern California and never set foot on the beach before dusk.

Worth doing. At night. Ask somebody else about daytime.

I love the beach, and I get to go for an entire week, with my friends, in june. I’m so excited!

Take off your shoes and walk barefoot (if the beach is not dirty or rocky, of course). Best feeling on your feet—it even exfoliates.
