"painful, but worth it!"
How I did it: Well I think the main problem with my bad posture, was my bed. I had all sorts of springs digging in to my back which were having a bad effect. So, the first step I would advice, is to get a better bed. But not a bed that is made primarily for comfort, but one that is made with your spine in mind! This made a drastic improvement on my general comfort and posture. This may be enough for you but I decided to take it one step further as my back was in really bad shape. For around one month, I slept on my back on the floor. Now this may sound uncomfortable, but with a pillow, you will learn to enjoy it. Although you are on a harder surface, comfort comes from the fact that your spine is perfectly flat. This has had a major effect and I am now standing straight and proud.
You also need to make the effort when you are up and about. You need to actually be aware of your posture and check up that you are actually standing up straight. When you forget about your posture you may find yourself slouching etc.
Hope this has been a help, and hope you can rate high!
